"Florentino wanted to sign Neymar. He's a massive fan"

AGENT SAYS PLAYER TO EARN LESS THAN MESSI

It has emerged that Neymar's path towards joining Barcelona was significantly outlined. The Brazilian signed a form to say he was choosing Barça over Real Madrid. Santos, in a statement on Friday, gave the striker the power to choose and Neymar did not take long to reveal his decision on his Twitter account. The player signed to confirm his choice.
Although Real's offer was financially more substantial, the Brazilian opted to sign for Barça, according to one of the player's three agents - Wagner Ribeiro - in an interview with 'TV Gazeta': "He's going to earn less than (Leo) Messi, but money was not the deciding factor. He chose Barcelona because it was closer to his heart. It's true that Florentino Pérez wanted to sign him. He's a massive Neymar fan".
Once the player took the decision to sign for the Catalan club, it was only a matter of putting pen to paper. The exact date of the transfer is still unknown, but sources at the club say it could be 3rd June.
Neymar will now focus on Brazil's preparations for the FIFA Confederations Cup. Barça is currently negotiating with the Brazilian Football Confederation to allow the striker to travel to the Spanish city after the friendly game between Brazil and England at the Maracaná Stadium.
